I believe in everyone’s innate goodness while acknowledging that our complicated histories often block attempts to understand ourselves and others. I create a safe and nurturing space for people from all backgrounds, religions, and perspectives - a place for clients to journey toward physical, emotional, and spiritual health and wholeness.
I work with individuals, couples, and families going through life transitions, managing anxiety and depression, exploring vocational changes, and processing unhealthy religious environments. Other areas of special focus include parenting, infertility challenges, and the adoption process.
I earned my Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy from Trevecca Nazarene University and I’m a member of the American Counseling Association and the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy. I also hold a BS in Art Education from the University of Georgia and an MA in Religion. I'm supervised by Rob Curwen (TN LMFT #762)
I’m trained in Emotionally Focused Therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Internal Family Systems. I’m a certified Prepare/Enrich facilitator for couples wanting to incorporate this valuable tool for pre-marital work or those wanting to strengthen their current relationship.
I’m married (30 years), have two kids (24 & 20), two dogs, and have lived in Franklin for 28 years. I love hiking, bird-watching, playing music, and hanging with friends and family.
I’m currently practicing at Hope Tree Counseling in Franklin, TN.
